I love indie publishing and have taught classes on indie-publishing (online and in-person). I've mentored hundreds of writers over the years. I've also been a guest speaker, a panelist/moderator, and held seminars on indie publishing for the following groups:
Writers Guild of America, West
Romance Writers of America (LARA chapter)
Horror Writers Association (Los Angeles chapter)
Columbia College Chicago (Semester in LA)
Northwestern University Entertainment Alliance (NUEA)
TV Writers for the Future Fund
Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo
Pagan Pride Long Beach
Becoming an indie author can be daunting, and there's a huge learning curve. I was one of the early adopters, so I've learned a lot along the way. If you need help, I offer the following services:
I format books (fiction only) using Vellum. Novels (up to 100K words) are $250.
For that price, you get a print book and distributor-specific ebooks (Kindle, Nook, Kobo, GooglePlay, iBooks, D2D) with a clickable TOC, store-specific buy links to your other books, clickable social media links. You also get a free update to the buy links on your Also By page once your books go live. I'm also available for questions as you complete the distribution process.
If you have a book that's shorter than 50,000 words or longer than 100,000 words, or a boxed set or a multi-author anthology, contact me for a quote. I typically don't handle graphics-heavy books.
I do developmental and copy editing, bundled together, for $0.025 a word.
If you need advice on navigating the indie publishing world, from setting up distribution accounts to handling promotions, I offer phone and/or email consults on every aspect of being an indie author. If you're overwhelmed, and just need someone to step in and do some of the work for you, we can discuss that on a per case basis.
